COLLINGWOOD gun Adam Treloar says he needs to radically change his decision-making if he's to correct his kicking efficiency woes from last year that carried into round one.
As the Hawks swamped the Pies, Treloar says he and his teammates "stuffed up" with ball in hand, as he went at 29 per cent efficiency by foot.
It comes after a 2017 campaign where he kicked at 48 per cent efficiency, ranked the worst of the competition's 203 players to average 10 kicks or more.
"I've been working on that my whole life, really. I think it's one of the things I need to improve on massively," Treloar told AFL.com.au.
"I work my backside off doing it, believe me.
"A lot of the time it's decision-making, it's not fundamentally how I'm kicking. Fundamentally I kick the ball fine.
"A lot of the kicks are rushed kicks and rushed bomb kicks and that's my own problem and that's me generally making the wrong decision."
As he prepares to take on his former club Greater Western Sydney, the 25-year-old says he still has a soft spot for them.
"They're an unbelievable team, outside Collingwood I still half barrack for them. I hope they go well and I love watching them go well," he said.
"They're the best in the business at moving the ball quick and getting that run and gun going.
"(It's a) great opportunity this week against probably the premiership favourite, a team that's red hot at the moment."

Last week Treloar was forced to watch on as Hawk Tom Mitchell amassed an AFL record 54 possessions.
Treloar said the decision to let his former AIS teammate roam around the MCG at will was left in the hands of the coaches.
"You can't really do anything at the time because he's dominating and what a performance he had," Treloar said.
"It's sort of really up to the coaches I suppose. We trust our system, we trust our midfield group and it's really whatever they say, if they want one of our players to try and shut them down.
"I think we tried to do that a bit but our opposition player trying to tag him was just running around like a headless chook being a spare man out there."
Treloar missed most of Thursday's main training session with Pies teammates but was adamant he would take on his former side.
He will be well aware of Giants ball-magnets Lachie Whitfield and Stephen Coniglio, his former teammates combining for 66 disposals last week.
