GEELONG son of a gun Oscar Brownless has opted to don the jumper made famous by triple premiership maestro and close family friend Steve Johnson.
After deciding against pursuing Scott Selwood's No.16, previously worn by his father Billy from 1986-1997, Oscar will look to make No.20 his own.
Brownless grew up an avid Cats fan, idolising Johnson and his premiership teammates, even learning to kick with the mercurial forward on the family's tennis court.
Just moments after being drafted at selection 74 last week, Oscar was receiving texts from Johnson pleading him to take the vacant No.20, which has been vacated by delisted defender Ryan Gardner.

Johnson kicked 452 goals in 253 games for the Cats to sit 11 goals ahead of Billy in fourth place on the club's all-time leading goalkicker tally.
Recruits Luke Dahlhaus (No.40) and Gary Rohan (No.23) have decided on jumpers worn in their junior careers for Geelong Falcons and Vic Country under 18's respectively.
The Cats' first selection in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft, West Australian Jordan Clark, will wear No.6 alongside South Australians Ben Jarvis (No.10), Nathan Kreuger (No.15), Jacob Kennerley (No.21) and Jake Tarca (No.33).
Jarvis and Kennerley arrive at GMHBA Stadium as best friends and Norwood teammates, having boarded together at Rostrevor College and played together in SA's NAB AFL Under 18 Championships victory this year.
"It makes it a lot easier, especially pretty much doing it with your best mate," Jarvis said.
Kennerley, who broke the 2km time trial record at the AFL Draft Combine said the pair had matured after moving from the Eyre Peninsula to board, Kennerley from Cummina and Jarvis from Port Lincoln.
"Just that independence you get. I came over in Year 10 to boarding school. You don't have to fend for yourself but you do have to do a lot of things by yourself," he said.
Along with the other interstate recruits, Kennerley and Jarvis are living in apartments at the Geelong Conference Centre until the Christmas break before they return to move in with host families.
Local product Tom Atkins has taken Matthew Scarlett's famous No.30, with ruckman Darcy Fort handed No.28, with former Geelong Falcon Blake Schlensog given No.36 and Irishman Stefan Okunbor No.43.
Meanwhile, captain Joel Selwood is expected to return to full training next week after leaving the track early during Friday's session that lasted close to three hours.

Selwood has been managing his loads since returning to training this week and completed straight-line running away from the main group, departing before an intense block of match simulation.
Sam Menegola and Jed Bews clocked a big load of individual running, while others including Zach Tuohy, Rhys Stanley, Lachie Fogarty, Wylie Buzza, Esava Ratugolea, Charlie Constable weren't sighted.
Nakia Cockatoo and Jordan Cunico continue to recover from having their tonsils removed.
Gary Ablett, Harry Taylor, Tom Hawkins and Nathan Kreuger sat out the latter stages of match simulation for extra conditioning.
The first-year draftees were eased into their first full day on the track, completing video analysis on their skills away from the rest of their teammates.
