DEVON Smith has been charged with attempted striking for his late swing at Richmond's Kamdyn McIntosh but will escape with a fine.
Smith and McIntosh clashed in the first quarter of Richmond's eight-point win over Essendon, with the Bomber taking a wild swing at the the Tigers winger.
He was offered a $1500 fine with an early guilty plea.
Richmond defender Nathan Broad was charged with misconduct against Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti and can also accept a $1500 fine with an early guilty plea.
Essendon captain Dyson Heppell (a $1500 fine for a second offence) and teammate David Myers ($1000) were offered fines for umpire contact.
