ADELAIDE veteran Sam Gibson has kicked off the New Year the way he finished the last, blitzing the field in the Crows' 2km time trial at Thebarton Oval on Monday morning.
Gibson – the oldest player on the Crows' list at 31 – continues to show his running ability after coming across from North Melbourne during the NAB AFL Trade Period.
The winger won the club's time trial in December, making a strong bid to force his way into the beaten grand finalist's best 22.
While Gibson started strongly, midfielder Brad Crouch has started 2018 on a modified training program.
Mitch McGovern, Kyle Cheney and Wayne Milera also trained away from the main group.
Midfielder Hugh Greenwood jogged laps of the ground as he continues his rehab from Achilles surgery.
