THE career of former No.4 overall draft pick Jimmy Toumpas is at the crossroads after he was delisted by Port Adelaide on Tuesday.

Toumpas played just 10 games in three seasons for the Power – and none this year – after joining the club in a four-way trade from Melbourne at the end of 2015 on a three-year contract.

The Power received Toumpas and pick 32 in exchange for picks 29, 50 and 68 in a trade that also involved Collingwood and Adelaide.

Toumpas was taken by Melbourne with the fourth overall pick in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft, but played only 27 games in three seasons with the Demons before returning to South Australia.

The 24-year-old found plenty of the ball across half-back for Port Adelaide in the SANFL this year, so he could receive a lifeline as a delisted free agent or through the rookie draft to continue at a third club.

Toumpas couldn't force his way into the Power's best 22 and was overtaken by the likes of Dan Houston and Riley Bonner in the backline.

The Power have also decided not to offer a contract to Ugandan-born defender Emmanuel Irra for next season.

Irra, 24, spent the past two years on the Power's list after joining the club as a Category B rookie without playing a senior game.

"Jimmy and Emmanuel have given great service to our club, both on the field and within our community programs as leaders in the multicultural space, but we have reached a difficult time of the year when the club needs to make decisions for its future regarding our playing list," the Power's general manager of football Chris Davies said.

"We thank both players for their professionalism and we wish them well for their futures.

"Both Jimmy and Emmanuel are always welcome at the Port Adelaide Football Club."
