RUNNING machine Tom Scully has been withdrawn from Greater Western Sydney's AFLX squad for Saturday's tournament at Allianz Stadium due to soreness.
Rebounding defender Isaac Cumming will not play for the same reason.
No replacements have been named, with the Giants to field a 14-man squad.
Scully seemed perfectly suited to the seven-a-side game. His stellar aerobic capacity is demonstrated by his crown as the Giants' time trial champion.
The 26-year-old has been nominated in the All Australian squad of 40 for the past two years.
Cumming looms as an important player for coach Leon Cameron. He could be play plenty of senior footy this year with dasher Nathan Wilson having left for Fremantle and the fleet-footed Zac Williams succumbing to a torn Achilles tendon in January.
He was drafted at No.20 in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft.
Lachie Whitfield will captain a GWS outfit that will face reigning premiers Richmond and Brisbane in pool matches from 4.10pm EDT.
