STAR Collingwood midfielder Steele Sidebottom is free to face Adelaide next Friday night after escaping suspension for his sling tackle on Carlton youngster Zac Fisher.
Sidebottom tackled Fisher early in the last quarter of the Magpies' 24-point win on Friday, pinning the Blue's arms and slinging him to the ground as Fisher kicked the football away.
The tackle left Fisher briefly dazed but he was able to play out the game.
The Pie has accepted his $2000 fine for engaging in rough conduct, with Match Review Officer Michael Christian seeing it as careless conduct with low impact to the head.
Collingwood, 1-2, travel to Adelaide Oval to face the Crows and will need Sidebottom, who was in stellar form against the Blues, collecting 35 disposals and three goals.
One other incident was assessed, with Carlton defender Liam Jones cleared for his contact with Magpie Tom Phillips in the second term. A free was paid and Match Review Officer Michael Christian found the contact was below the reportable threshold.
That instance saw Phillips fly for a mark, and Jones making contact with the Magpie's back, forcing Phillips under the ball.
