GOLD Coast has confirmed the signings of West Adelaide key position player Chris Burgess and Werribee forward Josh Corbett as part of the special assistance package provided by the AFL Commission.

As reported by AFL.com.au on September 28, the Suns have kept close tabs on Burgess, Corbett and Sturt forward Shane McAdam since it was announced they would be granted priority access to three state-league players who had previously nominated for the NAB AFL Draft.

McAdam is also fielding interest from Carlton, who would then on-trade him as part of a deal to acquire Adelaide high-flyer Mitch McGovern.

Burgess, 22, rocketed into calculations after a stellar season for West Adelaide in the SANFL, finishing fourth in the club's best and fairest.

He was also a teammate of highly rated draft prospect Izak Rankine, who is a strong chance to land at the Suns with either the second or third pick overall in the NAB AFL Draft.

Corbett has also had an impressive campaign for Werribee, winning the VFL's most promising player award.
