The nomination period for the Essendon Women’s Network’s 2018 Football Woman of the Year Awards has been extended.
Nominations will now be recieved for all categories until Friday, August 10.
The Awards recognise the amazing skill, dedication and effort of women in football.
This is the 20th year of the awards, and the Essendon Football Club and the AFL are very proud supporters of the Awards.
We are very pleased to announce the following categories for 2018:
Emerging Leader Award – for women aged 30 or younger who are inspiring other women in football and who are showing strong leadership capabilities.
Community Award – to celebrate our unsung heroes who work on a volunteer basis whether at local or AFL level.
Fujitsu General Football Woman of the Year Award – to celebrate and honour the achievements of women who have made an exceptional contribution within the Australian Rules football industry.
Nominees can be self-nominated or a nomination can be put forward on behalf of a woman, with her consent.
