SANDRINGHAM was remarkably kept goalless for the first time in its history in round 11 of the VFL on Sunday.
Less than 24 hours after the Zebras' AFL alignment partner St Kilda notched their second win of the season on the Gold Coast, Sandringham was thrashed by the Seagulls in horrendous conditions at Williamstown Football Ground, 11.11 (77) to 0.9 (9).
FROM THE TWOS Who put their hand up for a recall?
Sandringham kicked the first score of the game in the 17th minute and extended its lead to five points before the home side kicked into gear.
The Zebras added three points in the third quarter and one in the final term, as the home team ran out comfortable 68-point winners 11.11 (77) to 0.9 (9).
Sandringham fielded several St Kilda-listed players including Josh Bruce, Sam Gilbert, Nathan Freeman, Jack Lonie, Ed Phillips and Tom Hickey.
Veteran Gilbert was the best of the Saints with 26 disposals, while Hickey battled hard for 25 touches.
