THE PICK No.1 will wear No.18 at Carlton next season.
Sam Walsh was handed the No.18 guernsey at Ikon Park on Monday, just days after he was recruited to the Blues with the first selection in last week's NAB AFL Draft.
Just three Blues have played 100 games in the No.18 jumper – premiership player Arthur Sanger, Alex Lang and most recently Justin Murphy.
Liam Stocker, the club's fellow first-round selection, will wear No.13.

Father-son recruit Ben Silvagni will break from family tradition, taking No.37 given the No.1 jumper made famous by his grandfather Sergio and his father Stephen is in the possession of his older brother Jack, who was recruited to the club three years ago.
High-profile trade recruit Mitch McGovern will wear No.11, while Will Setterfield will take the No.43 jumper made famous by club great Anthony Koutoufides.
Nic Newman will don No.24, while Alex Fasolo will have No.32.
Carlton's other national draftee, Finbar O'Dwyer, will wear No.38, rookie recruit Hugh Goddard will wear No.45, andTom Bugg will wear No.40.
Category B rookie Matt Owies will wear No.44 after making the switch from basketball.
