COLLINGWOOD midfielder Jordan De Goey's driving licence has been suspended after he recorded a blood alcohol content of 0.095 at a random breath testing station on Saturday night.

The Magpies said De Goey notified them of the incident and club officials will now meet on Monday to decide how the matter will be addressed. 

De Goey's licence was immediately suspended and he has been disqualified from obtaining a licence for the next six months, the club said in a statement on Sunday.

Victoria Police confirmed they conducted a breath test on a 21-year-old Hampton East man on Beaconsfield Parade in Port Melbourne about 8.25pm last night, with his reading of 0.095 almost twice the legal limit.

The incident puts De Goey's playing future in jeopardy, with the midfielder due to come out of contract at the end of the season.

De Goey was hit with a club suspension on the eve of last season after telling the club he suffered a broken hand while playing with his dog.

It emerged shortly after that the injury occurred as a result of a bar fight, with the club then suspending him for three weeks after his hand healed and fining him $5000.

De Goey was recruited with pick No.5 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft and has played 50 games across the past three seasons.

He underwent hip flexor surgery in August last year and was training freely before suffering a knock in December that unsettled the problem.

Teammate Tyson Goldsack earlier this month issued a challenge to the young midfielder, saying he was "definitely not as fit as he could be".
