COLLINGWOOD veteran Daniel Wells will return to the VFL this week after suffering from hamstring and Achilles tightness.
The 33-year-old's only minutes of the season to date came in a half on March 23 against Box Hill in a VFL practice match.
He has missed the last two hit-outs, including last week's VFL season-opener against Northern Blues.
"Daniel is set to resume in our VFL program this week," general manager of football Geoff Walsh told the club's website.
"He's on top of the Achilles and hamstring tightness he has been experiencing, so we expect a good, strong week on the track from Daniel, and he will return through our VFL program this Saturday."
Walsh said hamstrung swingman Darcy Moore would be expected to return in the next fortnight, a four-day break between rounds five and six seeing him more likely for the latter fixture.
Forward Kayle Kirby, who suffered a heart scare two weeks ago, has undergone further tests as the club examines an irregular heartbeat.
"Kayle has started to do a little bit of activities, and all reports on the surface say he will make a full recovery," Walsh said.
"We will need to run a few more tests to ensure that is the case."
