MELBOURNE'S breakthrough win over West Coast last Sunday, and the finals berth that it locked in, are the culmination of years of pain and recent close losses, according to Angus Brayshaw.

The Demons midfielder and AFL Exchange co-host said he felt "really calm" during the tense final term against the Eagles. Brayshaw compared this to the feeling he had in the Demons' round 18 loss to the Cats, where he remembers thinking "this one is getting away from us".
