PREMIERSHIP forward Jack Riewoldt will be a Richmond player until at least the end of 2021 after agreeing to a contract extension with the club.
The 29-year-old was already contracted for 2019, but has confirmed his future beyond that after an overwhelmingly positive season.
Riewoldt, named vice-captain in March last year, leads the side for contested marks with 36 from 18 games, and heads Richmond's goal-kicking with 44 from Josh Caddy (35).
As well as being in career-best marking form, he's also demonstrated selflessness on numerous occasions by bringing his teammates into play wherever possible as the Tigers work towards defending their 2017 premiership.
"We love what Jack brings to our football club," Richmond football manager Neil Balme told the club's website.
"Jack is a wonderful leader, selfless team player and great clubman, and it's fantastic that he'll continue his journey here at Richmond.
"Jack's a talented player and continues to evolve his game, and also spends time supporting his teammates in their own development, and we love that team-first nature about him."
Riewoldt will turn 32 in October of 2021.
Four-time All Australian defender Alex Rance and young livewire Jack Higgins also recently signed contract extensions until the end of 2021.
The Tigers still have a number of premiership players coming out of contract, with Bachar Houli, Shaun Grigg, Jacob Townsend and Nathan Broad among those yet to be signed up.
As the club continues to be linked to Gold Coast free agent Tom Lynch, a number of negotiations have been parked for now.
The management of the much-improved Jayden Short is currently in talks about a new deal, while West Australian Reece Conca – who is currently sidelined after dislocating his ankle in round 15 against Sydney – is yet to confirm his future despite his positive start to the season.
