FRINGE Richmond forward Sam Lloyd will be playing for the Western Bulldogs next year.

His manager Robbie D'Orazio confirmed the news to NAB AFL Trade Radio on Tuesday.

"Sam will get to the Dogs, which I'm excited about," D'Orazio said.

"He's just one that's probably the unluckiest player in the AFL this year. He's been the 23rd man most weeks at Richmond, who were obviously on top of the ladder for most of the year."

Out of contract, the 28-year-old has played 57 career games.

Greater Western Sydney star Dylan Shiel is speaking to Victorian clubs but is signed up until the end of next season, and could see out his current deal.

"He's not out of the Giants whatsoever. He's contracted and … GWS are the boss in this situation. Obviously when you're contracted, it's up to them to do what they want to do," D'Orazio said.

"At the moment, both parties are comfortable. He'll meet a few clubs and has met a few clubs. He's still got to work through that but in the end, Dylan could quite easily go back up there in October or November and start day one of pre-season."

While GWS' salary cap is bulging, there is scope for Shiel to stay.

"What you hear from the outside, they're pretty tight. In saying that, I'm sure if he's required there next year, he'd be fine," D'Orazio said.

Meanwhile, forgotten Gold Coast backman Jack Scrimshaw could be on the way back to Victoria, as reported by AFL.com.au in June. 

Selected at No.7 in 2016, the 20-year-old has lined up in four senior matches since he was drafted, but none this season.

"He probably just didn't fit into the environment up there, and that's not a dig at the football club, just the state itself," D'Orazio said.

"He probably needed to be home more regularly. Everybody's different. His football probably paid the price for that.

"If Jack could get home, we'd probably look at doing something. We're just working through that at the moment, and we've got plenty of time.

"He's an elite talent. He's about 194cm now, so he's nice and tall, beautiful left foot, just needs to work out how to live the AFL lifestyle. It's bloody tough."

He's contracted until the end of 2020 and could be moved to the rookie list if a trade can't be done.
