ESSENDON has confirmed Jayden Laverde and James Stewart have re-signed for two more years.

As reported by AFL.com.au last week, both of the players have committed to the Bombers until the end of 2020.

Laverde was a top-20 pick in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft but has endured a tough injury run in his four years at Essendon, managing just 30 senior games.

He kicked three goals in Essendon's final round win over Port Adelaide and will be hoping to cement his place in the club's best side next year.

Stewart has played 23 games at Essendon since crossing from Greater Western Sydney.

The tall forward played 11 games and booted 15 goals this year.

"I'm excited to spend the next two years at Essendon. I believe this side is on the cusp of something special and I'm excited to see what we can achieve together as a team," Stewart told the club website.

Laverde also looked to the future.

"The club has a bright future ahead and I'm looking forward to being a consistent contributor to the side over the next two years," he said.

"The team finished off the year strongly and we can all see the positive direction we are heading in.

"Over the next two years I want to develop my game and continue to build on the time I spend in the midfield."
