MELBOURNE forward Liam Hulett has been carried from the field with a left ankle injury at training on Friday morning.
He was involved in a full-ground drill and went to strip the ball off another player before going down.
Hulett, 19, lay on the turf for a couple of minutes before being helped off Gosch's Paddock. He was unable to put any weight on his left leg and was soon taken away in a cart.
The severity of the injury is unclear.
Track watchers initially feared Hulett had suffered a serious knee injury, but the club later confirmed it was an ankle issue.
Yet to make his senior debut, Hulett played 18 matches in the VFL for the Casey Scorpions last year.
He was drafted at No.46 in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft.
Jeff Garlett was a notable absentee from training on Friday. The club said he returned home to Western Australia for an extended weekend.
Garlett was restricted to running in Wednesday's session.
The Demons did a lot of work on ball transition, working on keeping possession of the ball and taking it up the field.
Time was also spent working off a defender and marking on the lead. Max Gawn was among those to impress in this drill, putting on plenty of pressure when playing the negating role and often not allowing the opposing player to mark cleanly.
Jack Trengove pulled away from the rest of the group for a while to work on his acceleration before returning to the main session.
