DUMPED North Melbourne forward Lindsay Thomas booted four goals in an excellent performance for Werribee at Arden Street on Saturday afternoon as the Tigers beat Essendon by 23 points.
Meanwhile, former North skipper Andrew Swallow collected 24 disposals in an impressive midfield display.
Swallow, 29, has been tried in a role at half-forward this season but has had limited influence.
Both were dropped from the Kangaroos side that lost to Fremantle by five points with the club still winless after five rounds.
Werribee coach John Lamont told AFL.com.au he was impressed with Thomas' game.
"Handled himself well, Lindsay. Was engaged, right from the word go and was team-orientated. Got on the scoreboard … applied good pressure and I think he'd be pleased with his output," Lamont said.
Lamont was happy with the attitudes of Thomas and Swallow.
"A few of our coaching group said how positive they both were in the warm-up. The positivity, the leadership they provided, that was a real credit to them. They were engaged right from the word go, both of them," he said.
A speccy from the 29-year-old Thomas in the final term had the crowd at Arden Street excited as the Tigers ran away with the 14.13 (97) to 9.20 (74) victory.
