RICHMOND has re-signed livewire forward Daniel Rioli for a further two seasons, tying him to the club until at least the end of 2019.

As AFL.com.au revealed earlier this week, Rioli was close to signing and the club confirmed the deal on Saturday morning.

"I'm really excited to remain at Richmond for at least another two years," Rioli told richmondfc.com.au.

"I have loved this football club from day one and it was an easy decision to re-sign."

Rioli, 20, was drafted with pick No.15 in 2015. He has played every game this season to take his career tally to 33.

Tigers football talent manager Dan Richardson said the club was delighted to secure Rioli's signature.

"Daniel is an exciting young player and he has a very bright future ahead of him," he said.

"Daniel is clearly a talented footballer, but he also brings much more to our football club.

"He is passionate about sharing his culture and educating his teammates, as well as the broader football community."

Rioli's great uncle Maurice won two best and fairests at Richmond while cousin Cyril won the Norm Smith Medal with Hawthorn in 2015.
