INJURED Richmond star Dustin Martin will consider wearing a helmet in Saturday afternoon's clash against West Coast at the MCG in an attempt to protect his fractured cheekbone.
Martin, 25, was hurt in a clash with Collingwood midfielder James Aish during the first quarter last Thursday but played out the game and collected 25 disposals and two goals.
Martin trained with Richmond's main group for the opening 45 minutes of Tuesday's session without a helmet and looked comfortable.
He stepped out of competitive drills briefly to run laps and avoid being tackled, returning for ball-movement work at the end of the session.

The fracture was to the upper part of his right cheekbone, so a helmet would offer protection to Martin's injury.
Richmond's football department is understood to be keen to have Martin wear the helmet, and the club is confident he will be fit to face the Eagles.
A one-on-one specialist, Martin has never played fewer than 20 games in a season since being drafted with the third selection in 2009.
Martin arrived from New Zealand on Sunday night after visiting his father Shane, who was deported from Australia in March last year.
Young tall Mabior Chol, who suffered a head knock in a VFL practice match last Thursday, completed the full session with the main group.
The exciting 20-year-old is a contender to replace injured forward Ben Griffiths against West Coast and faces a fitness test later this week.
