GEELONG superstar Patrick Dangerfield has been offered a one-match suspension for his dangerous tackle on Matthew Kreuzer and will be ineligible for the Brownlow Medal if he accepts the charge.
Dangerfield's tackle, which left Carlton ruckman Matthew Kreuzer with concussion, was graded as careless conduct with medium impact to the head.
'I don't see an issue': Danger on tackle
Geelong was seeking legal advice late on Monday.
Initially, sources close to the club suggested a challenge was likely, however, the key factors facing the Cats QC will be how to frame a case based on the Tribunal's strict parameters for success.

There could be a decision in the coming hours, but the club has until Tuesday morning to inform League headquarters whether it will challenge.
Cats coach Chris Scott is scheduled to make his regular television appearance on Fox Footy on Monday night.

If Geelong challenges and loses, Dangerfield will miss crucial top-four matches against Sydney and Richmond.
Brownlow predictor: Check out all the votes
The suspension is the first of Dangerfield's 196-game career and will see Richmond superstar Dustin Martin rocket into Brownlow Medal favouritism if accepted.
The MRP also suspended Hawthorn champion Luke Hodge on Monday for a third low-level offence this season.
Hodge struck Tom Papley in the stomach as the Sydney forward ran past him, with the offence graded as intentional conduct with low impact to the body.
Hodge could ordinarily have accepted a fine, but his two previous offences this season meant he was offered a one-match ban.
Sydney forward Lance Franklin was offered a $1500 fine for making unreasonable or unnecessary contact to Hodge's face when he pushed the Hawthorn star with an open hand.
The offence was graded careless conduct with low impact to the head.

Franklin was cleared for a second incident that saw him collect Hodge high with a swinging arm, with the MRP deeming the action was not a striking motion and not a reportable offence.
Collingwood midfielder Taylor Adams was charged with engaging in rough conduct for a high bump on Adelaide's Rory Laird and can accept a $1000 fine.
