ALTHOUGH we were faced with some scary moments, it was another good round where many of our star performers did what we pay them the big bucks for. In exciting news, the final rollout of Dual Position players occurs this week with Steele Sidebottoms's additional forward status and the in-form Connor Blakely gaining defender status ranking my number one and two targets.

Fantasy pig

Gary Ablett once again reminded everyone why he is the Fantasy GOAT with a vintage performance against the Pies. The Little Master put on a clinic with 41 touches, eight marks and six tackles for 151. The risk of injury versus the reward of these types of scores is something all coaches will need to consider as we push toward finals, because Ablett can't be ignored.

Honourable mention: Tom Mitchell continued to justify his official snouting with another sensational performance against the Cats in a hotly contested match. With all of the attention going toward Patrick Dangerfield, Titch just went about his business, quietly accumulating 43 possessions and kicking two goals for a score of 147. I am very proud of this little Pig and coaches should feel comfortable leaving the captaincy responsibilities with him every week.

Around the state leagues: Who starred in your club's twos?

Rage trades

Todd Goldstein is a shadow of his former self and his coaches certainly felt that against the Power where he managed just 58 points from a whopping 93 per cent game time. Sharing ruck duties with Majak Daw, Goldy failed to take a mark, while collecting just six possessions and 22 hit-outs. He must be traded out.

Honourable mention: Dayne Zorko owners were a lot quieter this weekend as he turned in his second score in the forties in three weeks. This was of course on the back of his thumping 180 last week. He only managed 11 possessions and failed to take a mark on his way to 48.

Nine things we learned from round 17

Piglet

Sam Powell-Pepper –  or Pepper Piglet as he will now be named – had the best game of his career and rewarded coaches who resisted the temptation to upgrade him last week. The young Power star was at his bullish best, collecting 26 possessions and kicking two goals for 112. He will certainly be a popular member of our teams for years to come.

I think Heath Shaw is less likely to miss a game, so Nick Riewoldt goes first.

I do feel sorry for his current owners as he has been a great unique pick, but enjoy the fact everyone else has to trade him in while you can improve your team somewhere else.
