EX-HAWK Ben Dixon will join St Kilda as its goalkicking coach.
Former Sydney and Hawthorn player Ben McGlynn was in charge of those duties in 2017, when the Saints were one of the most inaccurate teams. On 12 occasions they kicked more behinds than goals.
McGlynn will remain at the club in his role as a development coach.
Inaccurate Saints: Who's the worst offender?
St Kilda finished 11th with an 11-11 record, and a percentage of 96.9.
Dixon, who played 203 games with Hawthorn and kicked 282 goals, has previously worked with Collingwood in the same role.
Saints football manager Jamie Cox told saints.com.au Dixon had shown he could do the role well.
"Accuracy in front of goal was a clear weakness of ours in 2017," Cox said.
"We went through a thorough review of all areas of our performance at the end of the season and identified the opportunity to increase our resources in regards to goalkicking.
"Ben has had success in similar coaching roles in the past. He brings a wealth of experience and we look forward to him joining our team ahead of the pre-season."
Dixon will be at the club by the start of December.
St Kilda's first to fourth-year players return on Wednesday, November 8, while the rest of the list comes back on Monday, November 20.
