NO.1 DRAFT hopeful Cameron Rayner has no qualms about moving interstate to begin his football career if that’s the way it unfolds on November 24.

Speaking on Thursday morning at the AFL Draft Combine, the Vic Metro midfielder said he’s "excited" at the prospect of being the first name read out on draft night.

If the draft order remains as it stands, the Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast would hold the first two picks, meaning a move to Queensland is a real possibility for Rayner.

The Lions have had issues with top draft selections wanting to return home to Victoria in the past, but Rayner said that would not be the case with him if he made the move north. 

"I don't think that's in my make-up, I feel if I was to go to a club you'd want to get the best out of the club and the best out of the player," he said.

"I've been wanting to play footy since I was a little kid so I would move halfway across the world to play."

The Western Jets prospect has already been interviewed by the Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast and Carlton, with a Collingwood meeting scheduled for Thursday afternoon. 

The 17-year-old was pleased with his interviews, but said he still has no idea where he will be playing his football in 2018. 

"It's pretty hard, the clubs keep their cards pretty close to their chest so you try to squeeze a little bit out of them, but they're pretty good at it so I'm not really sure at the moment," he said. 

Rayner is managing a minor knee injury which has kept him out of the Combine testing, but will be completing the 2km time trial in the next few days.
