LACHIE Weller was one of the few Fremantle players who could hold his head high after Saturday night's 100-point belting from Adelaide, but the young gun isn’t taking his spot for granted.
The aspiring midfielder had 30 touches and booted two majors after being moved from half-back into the engine room, fighting a losing battle in the shellacking from the Crows.
Dockers coach Ross Lyon warned post-match that changes were likely for Sunday's clash with Collingwood and declared not many of his players would "put their head on the pillow tonight and think I'm absolutely safe".
While Weller won't have any worries holding his spot, the 21-year-old won't let himself get comfortable in the 22, despite playing all 10 games this season.
"No, definitely not. You're only as good as your last game. You could come out this weekend and not play a good game and you're back on the chopping block," he said.
"It was a disappointing game (against Adelaide), especially (given) our form the last month or six weeks.
"Win, lose or draw we still review it a lot, so I think we've still got to take ownership of our actions and come out firing on the weekend to try and bounce back."
The Dockers sorely missed Aaron Sandilands (hamstring tightness) in wet and slippery conditions at Adelaide Oval and it is unclear whether the giant ruckman will be fit to face the Pies.
Weller denied Sandilands' absence affected the Dockers' mindset heading into the Crows clash.
"I don't think so. He's a handy player, though, so he's good to have out there," he said.
"Jon (Griffin) came in and we expect him to come in and play the same role."
Lyon indicated first-year ruckman Sean Darcy was a chance to make his debut against Collingwood, while mature-age draftee Luke Ryan and Tommy Sheridan could also come into the selection mix.
The Dockers – who are seventh with a 6-4 record but paltry percentage of just 81.5 - face two vital games before the bye against the Pies at home and Lions at the Gabba to keep up in the finals race.
Fremantle could regain Ed Lagndon (knee) from injury this weekend, although Harley Balic is still on indefinite leave due to personal reasons.
"Obviously he's one of our brothers, he's a teammate, so you do feel for him," Weller said.
"Hopefully he can sort his stuff out and come back and play some good footy because he was doing that when he was here."
