Western Bulldogs v Adelaide
7.35pm (EDT), Friday, February 10
VU Whitten Oval
ADELAIDE has made three changes for Friday night's game with the Bulldogs, although coach Bec Goddard said they were based on strategy rather than injury.
Forward Rachael Killian will make her debut for the Crows after being a late withdrawal last week due to a sore quad, as will Jenna McCormick, who missed the game against the Giants to play for Canberra United in the W-League semi-finals.
"That's the nature of the competition. If you had 23 rounds you might approach it a little bit differently," Goddard said.
"We have analysed the opposition and we think we have the match-ups right."
Western Bulldogs coach Paul Groves revealed the most important message he told his players is to enjoy playing.
"All we can do is control what we can control, and that is essentially having fun," Groves told westernbulldogs.com.au.
"If we're winning games as well, then that's a great bonus but we're here to bring out that fun side of footy."
The Bulldogs have been forced to make two changes with Kirsty Lamb (suspension) and Jaimee Lambert (undisclosed injury) making way for midfielder Romy Timmins and key forward Courtney Clarkson.
Carlton v Greater Western Sydney
3.35pm (EDT), Saturday, February 11
Ikon Park
Carlton coach Damien Keeping said the full team effort as the most pleasing aspect of the Blues' win over Collingwood last week.
"Each player clearly understood their role and were able to perform that on the night," Keeping said on radio station RSN 927.
"It was a really even performance from a team perspective and we were really pleased with that."
The Blue will be hoping for another strong team performance against the Giants, but they will have to do it without midfielder Natalie Plane, who will miss the rest of the season after she suffered an ankle sprain against Collingwood.
The Blues have signed the Eastern Devils' Tahni Nestor as an injury replacement for Plane. Nestor has been named an emergency.
Greater Western Sydney will be without marquee player and vice-captain Emma Swanson for the second week in a row.
Swanson was picked to debut in last week's game against Adelaide but was a late withdrawal with a hamstring injury and has not been named this week.
Code-hopper Ellie Brush has been named to debut for the Giants, after missing last week's game to play in W-League team Canberra United's semi-final.
The AFL is urging supporters to utilise public transport when travelling to Ikon Park after many fans were hit with parking fines after last Friday's season opener.
"I encourage fans to take public transport to the games as there will be no public parking on the Princes Park lawns due to Carlton's family day activities," AFL game and market development manager Simon Lethlean said.
Collingwood v Melbourne
7.40pm (EDT), Saturday, February 11
Ikon Park
The AFL decided on Wednesday to move another Collingwood match away from Olympic Park Oval due to the ground's capacity.
The game will instead be played at Ikon Park, with Lethlean describing the venue as the "best available option".
"Following the great attendances of the opening round last weekend, we want to make sure those who wish to attend this weekend can do so," Lethlean said.
Collingwood medicos had a busy week with five players picking up injuries last Friday, including captain Stephanie Chiocci who suffered a cut above her eye in the final quarter against Carlton.
Thankfully for the Pies, four of the five injured players have been named to play against the Demons, with Helen Roden left out.
Collingwood coach Wayne Siekman has identified disposal efficiency as an area for improvement, calling on experienced duo Lou Wotton and Penny Cula-Reid for Saturday's match.
Melbourne will be missing Richelle Cranston for the clash after the forward accepted a one-game suspension for a high bump on Lion Jamie Stanton.
"Richelle is disappointed to be missing a game and was concerned for Jamie Stanton following the incident," general manager of football operations Josh Mahoney told melbournefc.com.au.
"[She] will continue to work with the coaching staff to correct her technique and maintain her attack on the ball."
It will be interesting to see how prepared Melbourne is for Collingwood's style of play, as coach Mick Stinear was one of the unlucky spectators locked out the Pies' first game at Ikon Park last Friday.
Fremantle v Brisbane Lions
4.05pm (WST), Sunday, February 12
Fremantle Oval
Fremantle coach Michelle Cowan said she was disappointed with the Dockers' performance in round one and is expecting the team to "make amends" against the Brisbane Lions at Fremantle Oval.
"We certainly can play a better style and bring better effort," Cowan said after the Dockers' loss to the Bulldogs.
"The next challenge is the Brisbane Lions. No doubt they will be a challenge for us and we will be up for it."
The Dockers will be without defender Ebony Antonio after she accepted a one-match ban for rough conduct against the Bulldogs' Jess Gardner.
However, Commonwealth Games javelin gold medallist Kim Mickle will make her debut after overcoming the hip injury that kept her out of Fremantle's first match. Ruck Kelly Clinch also comes in, with defender Tarnica Golisano left out.
Brisbane Lions coach Craig Starcevich has said his team is not worried about being forced to travel two weeks in a row.
"It was funny when the draw came out. We got four 'travels' and if you did that to a men's team in a seven-week season, they'd be up in arms," Starcevich said after the Lions' win over Melbourne.
"But our players were like 'Fantastic, we get to go to Perth and Adelaide and Melbourne a couple of times'. So, I think they're ready for any challenge."
Brisbane is the only team going into this weekend with an unchanged team after an impressive effort in mostly heavy rain at Casey Fields.
