THERE'S a 200cm glass case in a dark corner of every Fantasy coach's den.
Underneath it sits a dusty old plaque which reads "IN CASE OF FANTASY RUCK EMERGENCY, BREAK GLASS AND GET TOM BOYD".
The glass case wobbled and shook noticeably on Grand Final day last year, but has otherwise remained as still and silent as the grave.
But the second Toby Nankervis swung his elbow back at David Mackay last Sunday evening at Adelaide Oval, the case began rattling again.
'Nank the Tank' has been Fantasy's star of the season so far, but a one-week break courtesy of the MRP leaves a big hole in 50.03 per cent of all Fantasy squads this round.
Todd Goldstein's great form as North's solo ruckman means we're unlikely to see the popular Braydon Preuss (RUC, $316,000) recalled, so it's time to break that glass and give big Tom a week to shine.
A straight swap from Preuss to Boyd (RUC/FWD, $289,000) would be one way to go, and net you $27,000 spending money.
After all, it's the Nankervis-free Tigers who Boyd will be facing this Saturday night at Etihad Stadium.

If you have a cheapish, underperforming forward (and let's face it, who doesn't), you could trade him out for the dual-position Boyd, move Nankervis onto your forward line bench and put Tom in the ruck. This assumes you have bench cover in the form of someone like Aaron Black (FWD, $220,000) or Jay Kennedy-Harris (FWD, $183,000).
Either way, take a punt on Tom for this weekend, then trade him back into the glass case until September, and be thankful it's the Bulldogs and not you who has to pay him for the whole year and beyond.

Get 'em in
Tim Taranto, GWS (MID/FWD, $292,000): Picked up 20 touches against the Dogs in a gruelling contest to cement his spot. Pop him in your forward line.
Marcus Bontempelli, Western Bulldogs (MID, $596,000): Averages 124 against this week's opponent Richmond. Looks primed for a monster game.
Koby Stevens, St Kilda (MID/FWD, $519,000): A nice point of difference, he delivered 106 against the Hawks last week in his club debut. One for the watch list.
Bye for now
Tom Liberatore, Western Bulldogs (MID, $478,000): Expected to recover from concussion in time to face the Tigers, but he's averaged 65 in his last three outings and must be moved on.
Jobe Watson, Essendon (MID, $505,000): Never doubt a champion but know when they've given you as much as they can. Time for a rest, Jobe.
Brandan Parfitt, Geelong (MID/FWD, $312,000): The talented Cat pinged his hamstring against the Magpies and could miss three months so swap for teammate George Horlin-Smith (MID, $324,000).
