SHANE Mumford's availability for Greater Western Sydney's semi-final against the winner of Port Adelaide and West Coast is under a serious cloud.
The Giants ruckman was on crutches at Adelaide Airport on Friday morning, as he joined his teammates for the flight back to Sydney.
The club confirmed Mumford was taking weight off his troublesome ankle and will be monitored in the coming days.
The Giants big man struggled throughout the side's 36-point loss to Adelaide.
However, injury could take questions over the 31-year-old's form out of the equation.
Coach Leon Cameron leapt to the defence of premiership player, conceding he almost didn't return to the field after half-time.
"He's battling to get up at times," Cameron told reporters.
"He just keeps finding a way. I thought his second half was better than his first half.
"He's a determined player and he'll be looking forward to playing again next weekend."
Star forward Jeremy Cameron is expected to have scans late on Friday afternoon after injuring his left hamstring in the second quarter.
It's the opposite leg to the hamstring which has plagued him earlier this season.
Cameron also boarded a flight back to Sydney on Friday morning.
