THE BRISBANE Lions have had a horror few days on the training track, with two young forwards joining Allen Christensen on the sidelines for the remainder of the pre-season.
As reported on AFL.com.au, Christensen broke his collarbone at training on Saturday and will miss up to 10 weeks after successfully undergoing surgery on Monday.
It's the same injury he suffered in round 11 last season against Carlton that wiped out the remainder of his year.
But there was more to come for the luckless Lions.
On the same day, second-year forward Josh Schache suffered a low-grade medial ligament strain in a contact drill.
Fortunately the former No.2 draft pick did not require surgery.
And on Monday it was Jono Freeman's turn, with the 22-year-old fracturing his cheekbone and undergoing minor surgery.
The Lions' website confirmed both forwards would miss the rest of the JLT Community Series and would return in either round one or two of the premiership season.
