CARLTON will again rebuff Adelaide's advances if the Crows come calling to bring Bryce Gibbs back to South Australia.
Adelaide last year sensationally attempted to land Gibbs, despite the midfielder having been contracted until the end of 2019.
The teams failed to come to an agreement and Carlton football manager Andrew McKay told reporters at Etihad Stadium on the first day of the NAB AFL Trade Period Adelaide would face a similar response if Gibbs wanted to return to his home state.
"We expect him to be a Carlton player," McKay said.
The Blues haven't heard from Gibbs about a desire to move.
"He hasn't requested anything as yet and he's a contracted player for another couple of years, so we expect him to be with us for that period," McKay said.
Meanwhile, the availability of Brisbane Lions forward Josh Schache has given the Blues something to think about.
"It's new to us so we haven't really entertained it at this stage. It's given us something to think about I suppose," McKay said.
