THE PIG returned and a host of players performed like Pigs to ensure many teams pumped out huge scores despite playing only 18. On the rookie front, it was certainly nice to drop off some scores for any teams with over 18 because sub-50 scores were on the menu for our young cash cows.
Fantasy pig
Gary Ablett showed why he is the Fantasy GOAT, continuing his tradition of smashing the Hawks with a thumping score of 153. He had the ball on a string, collecting 37 possessions, kicking two goals and laying an impressive 10 tackles. As long as this guy remains under 700K, he is a bargain!
Honourable mention: Sam Docherty is an absolute legend, there is no other way to put it. How other teams keep allowing him to do what he likes across half-back is beyond me, but while they do, Fantasy coaches keep cashing in. He racked up 35 touches and 12 marks for 149, which feels like a 200 when it's a defender.
• Seven things we learned from round 12
Special mention: The writing was on the wall that Brodie Grundy would turn up and smash the Dees in a favourable matchup, but he still needed to get it done. And that he did with a ridiculous score of 158 with 11 tackles and 53 hit-outs.
Rage trades
Aaron Hall was very disappointing against the Hawks in what was a Fantasy frenzy. Despite the fact he came into the game in ripping form and five of his teammates scored over 114, Hall went missing for extended periods on his way to just 71 from 23 possessions.
Honourable mention: Jack Steele let his owners down, completely going missing in the first quarter before crawling to 57 with just five kicks. I don’t think it is panic stations though, as he is back to Etihad next week where his form is far more impressive.
• Around the state leagues: Who starred in your club's twos?
Piglet
Jonathon Beech waited a long time for his debut and certainly made the most of his opportunity. The mature-age Crow will be a good downgrade prospect after his bye following his 15 possessions, four tackles, four marks and one goal for a score of 71.
