COLLINGWOOD teenagers Brayden Sier and Max Lynch have earned new deals, with the uncapped pair being granted another season with the Magpies.

Big-bodied midfielder Sier signed a one-year extension while promising first-year ruckman Lynch has agreed to spend another year on the Pies' rookie list.

Sier, who will turn 20 in December, was the Pies' first pick at No. 32 in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft but his time at the Holden Centre has been cruelled by an assortment of injuries that have restricted him to just 18 VFL games in his two years.

Last year the former Northern Knight was thwarted by a broken wrist, a severe bout of concussion and a season-ending back problem, while his 2017 season was derailed by hamstring, eye socket and foot ailments.

Some will deem Sier lucky to get another chance with the Pies, but the club remains bullish about his prospects for development given his lack of elite-level football as a junior and his subsequent plagued run.

They believe an injury-free stretch and some continuity will finally allow him to become the powerful onballer they originally envisioned, and would have been buoyed by his last game this year when he gathered 24 possessions, six clearances, seven tackles and a goal in a loss to eventual premier Port Melbourne. 

Lynch, a 200cm ruckman, improved as the VFL season progressed, impressing with his competitiveness in the air and presence in packs. 

The big New South Welshman, 19, is a back-up ruck option to support Brodie Grundy and Mason Cox.
