PORT Adelaide ruckman Paddy Ryder will miss Saturday's crunch game against Greater Western Sydney in Canberra after acceptin a one-match suspension for striking Adelaide forward Riley Knight.
Ryder was the only player offered a suspension out of round three, with four other players – including Adelaide midfielder Charlie Cameron – accepting $1000 fines.
The Power big man took a left arm swing at Knight in Saturday's Showdown and made contact to the Crow's jaw, sending him to the ground.
The Match Review Panel graded the hit as intentional conduct with low impact to the head, offering Ryder a one-match suspension with an early guilty plea.
Adelaide's medical report cleared Knight of any damage resulting from the incident, playing a key role in the low impact grading.
Port Adelaide will likely call on experienced ruckman Matthew Lobbe to replace Ryder, with Giant ruckman Shane Mumford looming as a big hurdle for the Power this week.
In other charges on Monday, Cameron accepted a $1000 fine for rough conduct on Dan Houston after laying a high bump on the Port Adelaide rookie.
The Panel graded the hit as careless conduct with low impact to the head, allowing Cameron to escape suspension.
Mumford came under scrutiny by the MRP for a dangerous tackle on North Melbourne's Taylor Garner, which was graded as careless conduct with low impact to the head.
The crucial big man will be available to face the Power and has accepted a $1000 fine.
North Melbourne forward Kayne Turner was charged for rough conduct against Ryan Griffen and accepted a $1000 fine for an incident off the ball, which was graded intentional conduct with low impact to the body.
Gold Coast midfielder Jarryd Lyons accepted a $1000 fine for striking Liam Shiels in Sunday's upset win at Metricon Stadium, with his hit graded careless conduct with low impact to the head.
