PORT Adelaide will not stand in the way of contracted ruckman Matthew Lobbe, who is seeking more game time at another club.
The 28-year-old has played just 25 games in the past three years and none in 2017 as All Australian ruckman Paddy Ryder moved ahead of him in the pecking order.
There have been reports the Victorian has met with Gold Coast and Brisbane Lions as he seeks a new footballing home.
Power's general manager of football Chris Davies said the club would be comfortable with Lobbe leaving despite still having two years to run on his contract.
"I haven't had any updates on 'Lobes' [yet]," Davies said on NAB AFL Trade Radio on Friday morning.
"I think at this point, Matthew has expressed a want to look at what his options are … we're happy for him to explore those options.
"If there's sufficient interest, then I'm sure something will get done there. In the short term, it's more about Matthew ascertaining if there's a club that's actually interested in him going to them."
Losing Lobbe would thin Port Adelaide's ruck stocks even further after the versatile Jackson Trengove's move to Western Bulldogs as a restricted free agent.
Davies also said the club was unlikely to acquire young Essendon defender Aaron Francis.
"I said here last week, players who are talented and South Australian and want to come home, you’re interested in.
"But I think it's reasonable to suggest right now, with Aaron having a couple of years left on his contract at Essendon, that will be a really tough one to get done.
"And Essendon have obviously got some other priorities at this point, and that's more than fair."
West Australian Brendon Ah Chee is keen to make the move to West Coast, also in the quest for more senior opportunities.
Davies said there was "no stalemate" in dealing with the Eagles, but the club wanted to get a good return for Ah Chee. Teammate Aaron Young is likewise looking for a fresh start at another club.
"We don't want to get into a situation where we're holding players who don't necessarily want to be at the club. [Ah Chee, Young and Lobbe] have all been really good servants to our club and are fantastic people. So where we can, we'll try to facilitate those things.
"We're certainly not going to be delisting Youngy or 'Arch' – both of those guys are out of contract – they're way too good from our perspective to just be given away for nothing.
"If a club wants both of those and see them being part of their best team, you'd be wanting fair compensation on that basis. There's still a week to go in the Trade Period and I'm sure if people are being reasonable, these things will generally get done."
Both Jack Watts and Steven Motlop have been linked to the Power in recent weeks, but Davies was not able to provide much of an update on those potential deals.
"The first thing we need to make sure is Jack wants to come to the club, so that's the first hurdle in all of this. Once that occurs and you have two parties who want to get a deal done, generally it happens," he said.
On Motlop, Davies expects the Cat, currently in Darwin discussing his options with his family, to make a decision in the next day or so.
"I'm confident we're in the conversation, we haven't been told we're not. There's some conjecture about who's offering what; as I say, we're still in the conversation and we're comfortable in what our pitch has been so far," he said.
