DELISTED Geelong forward Wylie Buzza has landed a career lifeline at Port Adelaide.

The 23-year-old was the first delisted free agent to find a new home when the window opened on Friday morning.

Buzza will receive a one-year deal at Alberton and provide relief to the Power's key forward stocks diminished during the Telstra AFL Trade Period.

The Power lost Dougal Howard and Paddy Ryder to St Kilda, while Billy Frampton crossed town to Adelaide.

The former Cat will add depth behind talls Charlie Dixon and Todd Marshall.

"I really enjoyed my time at Geelong even though I didn't get the results and outcomes that I was hoping for, but I'm super excited to get another opportunity and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in," Buzza told Port Adelaide's website.

"I see myself as an AFL-standard footballer and I think I can contribute to overall team success rather than just being a number on the list. I know I might not get the opportunities straight away but I'm confident I can be a contributor at AFL level."

Buzza has failed to play an AFL game since round 17, 2018, the last of his nine games across three seasons at Geelong.

The Queenslander booted 32 goals in 17 matches in the Cats' VFL side in 2019.

"Wylie has shown that he is a quality performer at State League level," Port's general manager of football Chris Davies said.

"He's a real competitor, great character and is craving opportunity. We look forward to welcoming him into the group."
