WEST Coast defender Jeremy McGovern will be right to face Melbourne on Saturday after X-rays cleared him of any damage to his right thumb.
McGovern copped a knock on the thumb during the Eagles' win over Carlton on Sunday at the MCG.
He has had thumb issues in the past and plays with both thumbs strapped.
McGovern was the only one of last week's 22 missing at a light skills session at Domain Stadium on Tuesday but the Eagles are confident that he will play against the Demons.
Eagles coach Adam Simpson has discussed using McGovern in the second ruck role while Nic Naitanui is out with injury but Mitch Brown has performed the role in the last three games.

Simpson told radio station 6PR on Monday night that he had not used McGovern in the ruck because he does not want to mess with his form.
"He's just going too bloody good down back," Simpson said.
"I don't want to mess with a good thing.
"I think he can actually adapt and play pretty well as a second ruck and I think we've all seen glimpses of him playing as a forward.
"I think he can do some damage around the ground in the ruck. But at the moment he's probably in All Australian form as a backman and I'd hate to mess with that."
Match preview: West Coast v Melbourne
Will Schofield copped a head knock in the win over the Blues and has suffered concussion-like symptoms in the aftermath.
He was at training on Tuesday and should be fine to play on Saturday provided he passes a cognitive state test later in the week.
If Schofield does not get up it would present an opportunity for Eric Mackenzie to return after spending the last four weeks in the WAFL.
Simpson said the form of youngster Tom Barrass is keeping Mackenzie out at present.
"I think we've got a ripper in Tommy Barrass," Simpson said.
"He had (17) possessions on the weekend and four or five intercept marks. I think we've got a really good one there for the long-term. And he's probably holding out Mackenzie at the moment, which is a pretty difficult job to do."
Matt Priddis copped a cork on the thigh in Sunday's win over the Blues but he was running at training on Tuesday without any apparent discomfort and should be fine to face the Demons.
