The AFL wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed the matches played in round 10 of the 2016 Toyota AFL premiership season. The following charges were laid:

Jackson Trengove, Port Adelaide, has been charged with making unreasonable and unnecessary contact to the face of Max Gawn, Melbourne, during the first quarter of the Round 10 match between Port Adelaide and Melbourne, played at Traeger Park on Saturday May 28, 2016.
In summary, he can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.
Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Melbourne Football Club, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head. The incident was classified as a $1500 sanction. The player has no applicable record which impacts the penalty. An early plea enables the player to accept a $1000 sanction.

Other Incidents Assessed:
Contact between the Brisbane Lions’ Trent West and Hawthorn’s Will Langford from the second quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. Langford took possession of the ball and was tackled by West, who takes the Hawthorn to player to the ground over the boundary line. West turns Langford in the tackle but took him to the ground in one continuous motion. It was the view of the panel that West did not sling or drive Langford into the ground with excessive force and the tackle was not unreasonable in the circumstances. No further action was taken.
Contact between Hawthorn’s Jordan Lewis and the Brisbane Lions’ Nick Robertson from the third quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. It was the view of the panel there was no significant high contact made. No further action was taken.
Contact between the Geelong Cats’ Steven Motlop and Carlton’s Zach Tuohy from the third quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. After viewing all available vision, including down the ground non-broadcast vision, it was the view of the panel there was no forceful contact made to the groin area. No further action was taken.
