PORT Adelaide has suspended Jarman Impey for the club's round one clash against the Sydney Swans after his crash-and-run incident at the weekend.

The club has also suspended young forward Aidyn Johnson for the season opener after South Australian police advised the 19-year-old was a passenger in the car.

Both players have been fined $5000 by the Power's leadership group, which sanctioned the two forwards after consulting with the AFL and AFL Players Association.

Impey crashed into four cars, one belonging to teammate Angus Monfries, following a pool party and drinking session at Monfries' house on Saturday.

The 21-year-old ditched his car at the scene and attempted to walk home on Saturday night and couldn't be contacted by club officials for about five hours.

He handed himself into police on Sunday and has been reported with driving without due care, failing to exchange particulars and failing to report the incident.

The AFL said it would monitor Impey's upcoming court case and the Power had kept the League informed of its disciplinary action.

Impey, 21, apologised for his actions in a 34-second video statement released by the Power on Sunday night.

Impey and Johnson will direct their $5,000 sanctions to the Brain Injury Network of South Australia in support of road safety programs helping people who have suffered brain injuries.

They will also be required to participate in the network's youth reconnect programs.

Johnson was recruited by Port with pick No.45 in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft but suffered serious hamstring injuries that restricted him to five SANFL appearances.
