KOBY Stevens has joined his third AFL club after St Kilda secured a last-minute trade with the Western Bulldogs. 

The Saints receive Stevens, pick No.61 and a fourth-round selection in the 2017 NAB AFL Draft in exchange for pick No.50 and a fifth-round selection next year. 

Saints chief operating officer Ameet Bains said Stevens added further midfield depth after the club secured ex-Giant Jack Steele earlier in the trade period. 

"It went to the wire, not for any other reason than we were waiting on a couple of other things but we got the deal done," Bains said.

"Along with Jack Steele, we're thrilled to bring in someone of Koby's calibre who will really deepen our midfield stocks.

"We're confident he'll provide some physical support for our young developing midfielders, as well as players like (Jack) Steven and (David) Armitage. 

"With Koby's size, aggressive edge and ability to play forward we look forward to him making an impact as a Saint."

Stevens, 25, was out-of-favour at the Bulldogs after playing just 12 games in each of the last two seasons. He played in round 23 this season but did not feature in any of the finals, although he did play in Footscray's VFL premiership.

Stevens began his career at West Coast after he was drafted with pick No.23 in the 2009 NAB AFL draft. He only managed 11 games in three seasons before he was traded to the Bulldogs in 2012.

He played 63 matches with the Bulldogs over four seasons including 39 in his first two years.
