FREMANTLE forward Hayden Ballantyne appears set to be queried by the AFL's integrity unit after he was pictured using a mobile phone during Fremantle's NAB Challenge clash with Richmond on Friday.

Ballantyne injured his left hamstring in the second term of the Dockers' 60-point win. He immediately went into the rooms for treatment and did not play any further part in the match.

But during the second half, Fox Footy broadcast footage of Ballantyne talking on a mobile phone in the rooms while the match was still going on.

Under the AFL's integrity rules, players are strictly forbidden to use mobile phones during a match.

The AFL's integrity unit appears likely to contact Fremantle and Ballantyne over the incident.

However, Dockers coach Ross Lyon hoped common sense would prevail.

"Let's hope he wasn't Instagram-ing anyone," Lyon said post-match.

"I'm sure the appropriate authorities at the AFL will look at that. I'm pretty sure it will be a short conversation.

"If I hypothesise, he's got a wife and two young kids probably not at the game, (he might have said), 'I'm hurt, love, I'm OK'.

"I'm just hypothesising. And if it's that, you would think he might just get a little tap on the wrist and we all move on. Common sense prevails.

"The integrity unit, there's some pretty smart blokes in there, I'm sure we'll figure it out."
