MELBOURNE forward Jesse Hogan has had scans on an injured finger, but is confident it won't stop him from taking the field against Gold Coast on Saturday.
Last year's NAB AFL Rising Star arrived at Olympic Park Medical Centre on Monday morning with his right hand hidden away from the cameras.
Hogan, who kicked seven goals in the Demons' loss to St Kilda, described his visit as a "check-up" and said there was no cause for concern.
"It's just a little finger thing so should be no stress, it's more precautionary," Hogan said.
Meanwhile, Carlton's No.1 draft pick Jacob Weitering also had scans on his injured shoulder.
The key defender suffered a subluxation of his right shoulder during the Blues' win over Essendon on Sunday.
The 18-year-old admitted it was a scary moment when he initially sustained the injury.
"Yeah, initially [it was a scary]. I've never had a serious injury before so I'm hoping it's not too serious," Weitering said.
"I'm lucky it went straight back in. I'll just have to talk to the docs and physios at the club and go from there.
"The shoulder is a little bit sore. I'll just see what the scans say but I won't rule myself out for this week."
On Sunday, Carlton coach Brendon Bolton praised Weitering's dedication in defence, with the injury occurring as he made a desperate lunge in the goal square to rush a behind.
The defender said it was an unfortunate incident but that he would make the same decision in a heartbeat.
"It saved six points and we got the four points in the end," Weitering said.
"We got the win and that's all that matters at the end of the day. I'll do my best to get up for the weeks ahead."
Essendon's Mathew Stokes tweaked a hamstring in the loss to the Blues and also had scans on Monday.
The ex Cat said he was unsure if he would be fit to face the Sydney Swans on Saturday.
