GOLD Coast has been dealt further injury blows, with wingmen Alex Sexton and Matt Rosa to miss up to a month of action.
Sexton broke his forearm in Saturday night's heavy loss to Melbourne, while Rosa suffered a hamstring strain.
Sexton had an operation on Sunday, and Gold Coast general manager Marcus Ashcroft said that despite it going well, he would miss three to four weeks.
The news was similar for West Coast recruit Rosa, who strained his hamstring in the first quarter and did not return.
"It’s a similar injury he’s had before so nothing that’s new to him," Ashcroft told goldcoastfc.com.au.
"Again, similar timeframe to Alex, he’ll miss the next three to four weeks."
The injuries have added to a mounting toll that already includes midfielders David Swallow and Jaeger O'Meara (both indefinite knee injuries), Michael Rischitelli (shoulder), and defenders Rory Thompson (ankle), Trent McKenzie (ankle) and the suspended Steven May.
All of the above are a minimum of two weeks away from returning.
Young midfielder Touk Miller should be right to play Greater Western Sydney on Saturday though after battling through an ankle problem against the Demons.
"He’s out training there now and we’d expect him, if he gets through the test on Thursday, to play on the weekend," Ashcroft said.
