ITS SEASON finished almost three weeks ago, but Collingwood fans can still gloat about being top of the table for something.
The Magpie Army has ensured Collingwood is the highest followed team on Twitter and the most retweeted team.
And it should come as little surprise recently retired Magpies midfielder Dane Swan was named 'Player of the Year' by the social media company, generating the most new followers in 2016 to read his humourous and witty thoughts.
This award should sit nicely alongside Swanny's Brownlow Medal, premiership medallion and three Copeland Trophy wins.
But that's not the end for Collingwood fans, with American giant Mason Cox responsible for the most retweeted tweet of the year after his self-deprecating message about running an Auskick clinic after only recently beginning the sport himself.
That awkward moment when you have to go to an Auskick clinic and teach kids how to play footy who have played longer than you. #under40games

A few other clubs snuck into the Twitter gongs, with young Sydney Swans forward Tom Papley gaining the highest percentage follower growth.
Adelaide generated the most new followers, while North Melbourne had the highest percentage follower growth among clubs.
The Crows were also responsible for the most liked tweet – a touching tribute to late coach Phil Walsh.
