JAKE Carlisle will finally return from a doping ban to St Kilda on Wednesday to meet with football department staff.
The majority of the 34 past and present Essendon players hit with 12-month bans for doping are able to return to training from midnight on Tuesday, September 13.
Players' suspensions end officially on November 7.
Carlisle has recovered from the hip surgery he had earlier this year and will meet with the Saints to discuss how his upcoming fitness program will look.
He was traded from Essendon in a three-way deal also involving the Sydney Swans. St Kilda gave up picks No.5 and 24 last year to acquire the defender. The Saints also received No.14 last season, which they used to select Jade Gresham.
He received a drugs strike after video emerged of him snorting a white powder. The footage came out shortly after the trade was finalised.
Carlisle has been working in construction throughout 2016.
