EXPERIENCED West Coast assistant Justin Longmuir has been promoted to a senior role with the Eagles as he looks to take the next step in his coaching career.
Longmuir has been the long-time forwards coach, having started at the Eagles in 2010 before moving to an assistant role in October 2011, and has worked closely with two-time Coleman medallist Josh Kennedy and key forward Jack Darling.
He was one of just four men selected in the second intake of the AFL's Level Four coaching course alongside Peter Sumich, Brett Montgomery and Jade Rawlings.
Longmuir played 139 matches with Fremantle in his playing career before heading into coaching post his retirement in 2007.
Longmuir's promotion to the senior assistant role under Adam Simpson comes as part of the Eagles' coaching restructure.
Brady Rawlings has taken over as the Eagles' list manager after three seasons as the midfield coach.
Jaymie Graham has also been promoted as the new forward line coach.
Graham moves on from the dual role he held in 2016 as a development coach and head coach of the Eagles' WAFL-affiliate club East Perth.
"I am delighted to get the opportunity as forwards coach," Graham said.
"Having said that, I really enjoyed the role at East Perth this year and had terrific support from all levels of the club.
"It was a great learning experience for me and really helped my development."
The Eagles are yet to finalise who will take over the midfield line.
The club was planning to look externally following Rawlings' move into list management but was not in any hurry to rush through the process.
It is understood the Eagles are still working through how the midfield role might be structured.
