The Role:

The Adelaide Football Club has partnered with the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands and Far West Coast (Yalata, Oak Valley, Kooniba) students through a dedicated and focussed 3 year development program that aims to increase the engagement strategy of young students residing in these remote locations to improve their attendance and access to quality secondary school education.

Through a collaborative approach, the Adelaide Football Club will work together with Wiltja, Prime Minister and Cabinet (PMC), Skill Hire and the Department of Education and Child Hood Development (DECD) to support students, families and community through targeted case management and support.

The Ready Set Crow (RSC) Project Officer - Youth Worker will be a key RSC team member, representing the Adelaide Football Clubs’ RSC program within Wiltja and the respective schools that participate in the program. The Youth worker will be responsible for the supervision and provision of a safe and secure environment for the RSC program students. This role will contribute to the social and educational development of students. This will also extend to the identification and management of health issues and support the emotional welfare of RSC program students. 

Intra and interstate travel and some out of hours work may be required.

To be successful in this role you will have a current driver’s license, completed the Responding to Abuse and Neglect education course, willing to undertake senior first aid training, willing to learn to drive a Bus, and have a formal recognised qualification in Youth working/counselling in conjunction with 3 – 5 years relevant work experience in a similar environment.

This position is a 15 month contract.
