ADELAIDE'S All Australian defender Daniel Talia has signed a five-year contract extension.
The long-term deal will keep Talia at West Lakes until at least the end of 2021.
Talia, 24, has played 98 games since being drafted in 2009 and has become one of the competition’s best defenders.
The deal will take him straight through the restricted free agency window and go a long way towards making him a one-club player.
"I have spoken before about my passion for the club and I feel this playing group has the talent and determination to achieve sustained success," Talia said.
"There is a positive vibe around the place, a willingness to work hard and genuine desire to continually improve."
Talia won the NAB AFL Rising Star Award in 2012 before going on to win the club champion gong and All Australian selection in 2014.
Crows coach Dom Pyke said Talia was an elite defender and also a respected member of their leadership group.
"He sets high standards and drives our playing group to be the best they can be," Pyke said.
In further good news for Adelaide, the club has announced an operating profit of almost $1.5 million for the 2015 financial year.
The $1,493,636 profit is almost a $2 million turnaround on the previous year's performance.
Speaking at the club’s annual members meeting, chairman Rob Chapman elaborated on the strong off-field performance, including record membership of nearly 65,000, record sponsorship and the third-highest average home crowd in the AFL.
"We have established a strong foundation and there are now appropriate structures in place to ensure long-term sustainability and success," Chapman said.
