FREMANTLE recruit Bradley Hill has made a flying start with his new club, blitzing the 3km time trial on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Dockers superstar Nat Fyfe proved he is ready to bounce back from his broken leg by tying for fifth.
Hill was never headed in the brutal run, leading from start to finish in an impressive performance.
Tommy Sheridan followed the former Hawk home, with Cameron Sutcliffe close behind and Ethan Hughes finishing fourth.
Fyfe, who spent most of last season on the sidelines and recently returned from an intense two-week training camp in LA, tied with Josh Deluca in fifth place.

The Dockers' time trial crown was there for the taking this pre-season with none of last year's top-three place getters remaining at the club.
Tendai Mzungu, winner of the past two time trials, Matt de Boer and Michael Barlow were all delisted after Freo's stunning slide from minor premiers to 16th last season.
Hill, a three-time premiership Hawk, was a perennial challenger in Hawthorn's shorter 2.2km time trials, enjoying a friendly rivalry with fellow endurance kings Isaac Smith and Billy Hartung.
But the 23-year-old hadn't run a 3km time trial since the 2011 NAB AFL Draft Combine.
"It was good, especially to end up with the win for my first time trial," Hill said.
"It was a good run, I haven't done a 3km for a long time and I got a bit fatigued over the last lap.
"Hopefully I can beat it the next time I do it, I think after Christmas, so I'm looking forward to that.
"You want to run good times and (be) fit, and be ready for a big pre-season."
Hill joined the Dockers for pick No.23 in last month's NAB AFL Trade Period, returning home to play alongside his brother Stephen.
He was one of four homegrown products recruited by the Dockers – joining forwards Cam McCarthy (Greater Western Sydney) and Shane Kersten (Geelong), plus premiership defender Joel Hamling (Western Bulldogs) – and is already feeling at home in his new surroundings.
"I'm all settled in at the club now and living with my brother. It's pretty cruisy," Hill said.
"I've met most of the boys before through Stephen so it's pretty easy to fit right in.
"I don't think he'll ever get me (in a time trial).
"I'm probably a bit better than Stephen over long distance but over a short distance I think we're pretty close."
