FINALS are creeping up, so it’s time to attack and there is plenty of AFL Fantasy value out there to do so.
Many teams have removed all of the rookies from the ground, and consequently players who have dropped off in form like Mark Blicavs (RUC/MID, $425,000) have found themselves on the block in order to chase form players like Brodie Grundy (RUC, $505,000) for example.
Having said that, Josh Smith (DEF/MID, $336,000) is still the most traded-out player this week, as he has been holding down the fort in the last defensive spot, but last week’s sub-50 score means he has to go.
Luckily, there are two ripper premiums who are ripe for the picking as upgrades.
Luke Hodge (DEF/MID, $481,000) is the fourth-most traded in player this week after gaining DPP, and with two scores over 110 in the last three weeks, it is easy to see why he is so popular.
Selecting between him and Jason Johannisen (DEF, $438,000) will be a popular question tonight, given that JJ saves some cash and has already scored 113 against the Saints this year.
There are plenty of captain options this week, with many favourable match ups for players who are in hot form.
The Fantasy Pig Tom Rockliff (MID, $579,000) will certainly come into consideration after watching what Dustin Martin (FWD/MID, $566,000) did to the Bombers last week, while Patrick Dangerfield (MID, $644,000) is hard to resist at Skilled Stadium against his old team.
Calvin will announce his top-five captains during tonight's live chat to steer us in the right direction, but personally, I can’t wait to watch Rocky respond to his ‘out of shape’ criticism with another 180+ performance.
